UNO SHUZO

Established in 1620 at the base of the Hakusan Mountains, Uno Shuzo is one of the oldest sake breweries in all of Fukui Prefecture.  Despite multiple fires in its almost 400 year history, Uno Shuzo has continued to produce the best possible sake for its customers.  In 1980, Uno Shuzo began to focus on the use of Yamada Nishiki rice.  While famous today, Yamada Nishiki at the time was very rare and only selected kura were able to acquire it. 

Over the years, Uno Shuzo has won many national prizes and has become the leading sake brewery in Fukui Prefecture.
