"On Corsica, though, it is known for its elegance and complexity — “Corsican pinot noir,” in the words of Sébastien Poly of Domaine U Stiliccionu, who farms about 17 acres outside of Ajaccio in the south. His 2012 Damianu, made entirely of sciaccarellu, is simply beautiful, a savory mouthful of red fruit flavors you don’t want to stop drinking."

Our No. 2 bottle offered a more typical Corsican expression of a southern red. The 2013 Ajaccio Antica from U Stiliccionu, Sébastien Poly’s estate outside the city of Ajaccio, was pure, alive and complex, and 100 percent sciaccarellu.

"U Stiliccionu: Young Sébastien Poly-Casabianca is a solo act at his family’s biodynamically farmed property about a mile from Abbatucci, which he reclaimed in 2006. His reds, particularly the sciaccarellu-dominant Kalliste, are worth looking for."
