Girolamo Russo Current Releases

All of Giuseppe’s wines come from organically farmed vineyards and are fermented naturally with indigenous yeast.

Etna Rosato

Giuseppe’s Rosato is 100% Nerello Mascalese, with more than half the fruit coming from young vines planted in the contrada of San Lorenzo. It is made as a white wine would be, so the color is a pale pink. The wine is pressed using a vertical press then moved to stainless steel for fermentation and aging.

Nerina Etna Bianco

Nerina is 70% Carricante, 30% Catarratto, Inzolia, Grecanico, Minnella, and Coda di Volpe. The wine is sourced from the contradas of San Lorenzo, Feudo, and Calderara Sottana.

The white is aged in a combination of steel (80%) and used oak barrels (20%).

The wine is named “Nerina” after Giuseppe’s mother.

`A Rina Etna Rosso

‘A Rina is approximately 94% Nerello Mascalese and 6% Nerello Cappuccio from the contradas of San Lorenzo, Feudo, and Calderara Sottana. It’s important to note that “A rina” (meaning sand) is not an entry level wine. Like Bartolo Mascarello’s Barolo, Giuseppe believes that the most balanced and complete wine is achieved from being composed from a variety of sites.

‘A Rina is fermented in a combination of formats - 2,600 liter barrels, cement, and vat.

Feudo Etna Rosso

Feudo is a single vineyard wine from a contrada in Randazzo. It sits 650-670 meters above sea level and the vines are now over 70 years old. The entire vineyard is around 10 hectares but only the oldest 1 hectare parcel of vines is selected for the single contrada bottling.

The wine is almost entirely Nerello Mascalese but also have very small amounts of Nerello Cappuccio since the varieties are co-planted.
